GEOGRAPHY :
Located 6,700 km away from mainland France, Guadeloupe is an archipelago consisting of six groups of islands. The largest one, continental Guadeloupe , consists of Basse-Terre to the west (the administrative centre) and Grande Terre (with the economic capital, Pointe-à-Pitre) separated by the Rivière Salée. Then, to the east of the Grande Terre, is La Désirade and the Îles des Saintes archipelago to the south of Basse Terre, Marie Galante, which is also south of the Grande Terre, and the Northern Isles : Saint Martin (which is half French and half Dutch) and Saint Barthélémy.

Tropical and temperate.
